From that first T-shirt nearly a decade ago, Under Armour® developed its unique line of microfiber gear and subsequently launched the performance product industry.

As collegiate and professional athletes, the founders of Under Armour® know firsthand the advantage of LockerTagTM heatseals. Not only has our signature LockerTagTM made awkward garment labels inside the shirt obsolete, it’s fulfilled its original purpose: displaying the owner’s jersey number clearly and stylishly on each piece of our performance apparel. What was implemented out of necessity is now one of our most recognized trademarks.

The Under Armour® fabric lab rides the forefront of performance apparel by engineering the latest textile innovations and introducing new technologies that continue to improve our products. This development process is then implemented into the Under Armour® gear line, which results in our exclusive combination of moisture wicking fabrics.
UNDER ARMOUR UNVEILS NEW “ATHLETES RUN” ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN, LAUNCHING BRAND’S FIRST-EVER RUN FOOTWEAR
The foundation of Under Armour’s first-ever running footwear collection is the company’s new proprietary technology called Cartilage™. The independent suspension system serves as the “connective tissue” between a runner and his environment to enhance performance and provide an exceptionally stable and smooth ride.
UA Run footwear launches at retail on January 31, 2009 and includes four road shoes: the UA Apparition™, UA Illusion™, UA Revenant™, and UA Spectre™, and two trail shoes: the UA Chimera™ and UA Mirage™. Each shoe is specifically engineered to maximize the performance of today’s generation of professional, collegiate, high school and amateur athletes who are running as a sport or incorporating running as an essential component in their training regimen.
